Softball Recap: Elizabeth Wins Going Away Against Pueblo Centennial

Elizabeth got themselves on the board against Pueblo Centennial on Wednesday, but Pueblo Centennial never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 11-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Elizabeth let Allie Dey and Grace Carlson run wild. Dey went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Carlson went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Dey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aurelia Espinoza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Elizabeth hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Elizabeth's record now sits at 2-0.

Elizabeth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Ponderosa on the 22nd. As for Pueblo Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against George Washington on the 23rd.
