Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Titans vs. Encinal Jets

Skyline hasn't had much luck against Encinal recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Titans will challenge the Jets at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Skyline is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over West on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their two-run performance the game before.

Dallas Tucker was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Noah Penson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Encinal ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Archie Williams 3-2.

Zach Pippen was excellent, earning one run and four stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Proctor, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Encinal pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Skyline, their record is now 2-6.

Skyline might still be hurting after the 14-8 defeat they got from Encinal in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
