Goessel gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Wakefield Bombers 50-30. The Bluebirds not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13, 2024 (when they won 56-8).
Brayton Base threw for 92 yards and four touchdowns on only six passes. Trey Gaddis was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and three TDs.
Bradyn Moenning and Nick Freeman certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Moenning rushed for 64 yards and a pair of scores, while Freeman rushed for 26 yards and one TD. Moenning also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
