The Valley Vikings suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-20 loss at the hands of Cordova. Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cordova apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ximena Ramirez, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Jordyn Gibson who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Gibson posted two or more blocks.
Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Cordova, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Foothill the next time they take the court. Cordova will host Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Valley will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
