Rosamond is 8-2 against California City since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roadrunners will look to defend their home field against the Ravens at 3:15 p.m. The timing isn't great for Rosamond: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while California City has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
Last Tuesday, Rosamond made easy work of Lone Pine and carried off an 8-1 win. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Ayden Katuszonek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julian Pope Herdnandez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diego Perez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rosamond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask California City). They were the clear victors by a 26-5 margin over Frazier Mountain on Tuesday. The Ravens not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13, 2024 (when they won 27-3).
Aaroon Moreno and Dakoda Kusmit were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Moreno pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kusmit tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because California City is 3-0-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise. At the plate, Moreno went 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Kusmit got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, California City got a massive performance out of Kevin Hightower, who went 3-for-6 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kole Hightower, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.
California City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rosamond, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rosamond has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like California City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rosamond couldn't quite get it done against California City in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 6-2. Will the Roadrunners have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
