Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Skates Past Chadwick with Ease

Polytechnic won the last time they faced Chadwick and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers blew past the Dolphins, posting a 70-30 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Polytechnic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lori Ohanian, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Ohanian has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Areni Ohanian, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards.

Polytechnic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Polytechnic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points over those games. As for Chadwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Polytechnic is set to challenge their familiar foe EF Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chadwick will take on rival Westridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
