El Capitan and Monte Vista are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The El Capitan Vaqueros will be taking part in a tournament against the Monte Vista Monarchs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Monte Vista took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on El Capitan, who comes in off a win.
El Capitan had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt San Diego on Monday. Everything went El Capitan's way against San Diego as El Capitan made off with a 13-7 win.

Monte Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. El Capitan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monte Vista, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will El Capitan keep running through batters, or will Monte Vista buck the trend?
