Rye dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They were outmatched by the Buena Vista Demons and fell 48-7. The Thunderbolts were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

When it comes to explaining why Rye lost, don't look at Jackson Bjorum. Despite the final result, he rushed for 104 yards and one score.

As for Buena Vista, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average this season.

Eli Schuknecht was his usual excellent self, rushing for 100 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while also picking up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss). Knox Reid got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Rye wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 27-0 loss against Colorado Springs Christian on the 24th. As for Buena Vista, they have also already played their next game, a 46-0 victory against Peyton on the 24th.
