There's no place like home for the King City Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Marina 46-17 at home on Tuesday. This was payback for King City, who suffered a 39-29 loss the last time these two teams met.
King City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malaya Carrillo, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Carrillo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amity Hearne, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
King City's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Marina, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King City will challenge Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. King City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Marina, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
