Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Pine Creek's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Pine Creek's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Doherty Spartans with a sharp 18-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyleigh Croyle made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Kailani *Kai* Shideler was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in September. Layla Laramie was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Pine Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doherty only posted an OBP of .250.

Pine Creek is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Doherty, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
