Atkinson County barely beat Echols County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-0 win on Friday. Atkinson County is 9-2 when Tillman posts two or more runs, but 7-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovi Meeks, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
The victory was the ninth in a row for Atkinson County, bringing their record up to 16-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Echols County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-21.
