The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McKenzie in their matchups with Alsea: they've now lost five in a row.
McKenzie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rhys Hamlow, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and eight steals. Allen Acevedo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
McKenzie has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season. As for Alsea, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-18.
McKenzie's road trip will continue as they head out to face Triangle Lake at 1:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Alsea, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Eddyville at 4:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oregon (Eddyville is ranked 256th, while Alsea is ranked 272nd).
