Durham is 8-2 against Paradise since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Durham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Durham is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Pierce on Tuesday as they made off with a 23-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.
Jack Stephens made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stephens was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brevan Ring looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Durham let Ely Martinez and Jack Drake run wild. Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Drake got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Perry Phillips, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Durham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Paradise was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against East Nicolaus, falling 13-3.
Paradise saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kegg, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Paradise now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Durham, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Durham beat Paradise 8-4 in their previous meeting on April 9th. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
