The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will head out to  challenge the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Scholars Guild Academy earned  a  12-8 win over Horizon Christian Academy. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Spartans.
 Ty Newton made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Scholars Guild Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Justin Whitfield, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. Those  two  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Joshua Strange also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Johnson Ferry Christian Academy). Everything went their way against North Georgia HomeSchool on Friday as Johnson Ferry Christian Academy made off with  a  17-2 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
 Will Miller was a standout: he scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Zachary Grayson, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and six  RBI.
 Johnson Ferry Christian Academy  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 4.3  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.
 Scholars Guild Academy pushed their record up to 10-7 with the  victory, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their record is now 3-8.
 Scholars Guild Academy took their  victory against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024 by a conclusive  16-0. Does  Scholars Guild Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Johnson Ferry Christian Academy turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
