Baseball Recap: Whitney Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Santa Ana Valley, Whitney was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the La Puente Warriors by a score of 8-4. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Whitney let Kavi Stris and Jacob Nunag run wild. Stris got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Nunag went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Nunag has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Camron Raufdeen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Whitney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Whitney's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for La Puente, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Whitney will be playing in front of their home fans against Workman at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for La Puente, they will head out to square off against Pioneer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
