Roybal is 1-9 against Bernstein since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Roybal Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Bernstein Dragons at 4:00 p.m. Roybal is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Roybal suffered their biggest loss since November 13, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 53-33 loss at the hands of Robert F. Kennedy Community. Roybal has not had much luck with Robert F. Kennedy Community recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Angie Sebastian, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Carrillo, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Bernstein was beaten by Grand Terrace 66-24 on Saturday. Bernstein was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.
Bernstein's loss came about despite a quality game from Marlin Mendez, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Odali Rivera, who scored seven points.
Roybal bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bernstein, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Roybal was dealt a bruising 57-13 defeat at the hands of Bernstein in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Roybal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
