It was a good run, but Mendota unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the Torres Toros 36-32. While the Aztecs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Toros 11-7 in the first quarter.

Torres' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylin Perez, who posted ten points and four steals. Perez has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Garcia, who had no points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Mendota's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Torres, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Mendota will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fresno at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Torres, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-15 win against McLane on the 27th.
