Cherokee Trail has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mullen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Cherokee Trail's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mullen has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Cherokee Trail is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Denver South get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Leera Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Cherokee Trail got a massive performance out of Abby Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Anderson a new career-high. Isabelle Becker was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Cherokee Trail hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.
Mullen never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Vista PEAK Prep on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bison 10-9. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Mazie Jackson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kory Abbott, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
The victory got Mullen back to even at 9-9. As for Cherokee Trail, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cherokee Trail hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Mullen struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cherokee Trail took their victory against Mullen when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 25-2 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
