The Aptos Mariners scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Scotts Valley with points to spare, taking the game 54-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Aptos also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Laurel Southall, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Gabby Wickham, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals.
Aptos' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Scotts Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Aptos will be playing at home against San Lorenzo Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Lorenzo Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Scotts Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harbor comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
