Calvary Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 35-26 victory over Blair County Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Calvary Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2016.
Despite the loss, Blair County Christian still got an impressive performance from Gabi Dull, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Dull scored a full 65.4% of Blair County Christian's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lydia Hileman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Calvary Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Blair County Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnstown Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 18, 2024. As for Blair County Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Clearfield Alliance Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
