It was a good run, but the Kenston Forest Kavaliers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 69-60 to New Covenant. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kenston Forest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dayton Williams Jr, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Anderson Allen was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Douglas Powell was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with three blocks for New Covenant. Powell has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Isenhour, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Kenston Forest's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6. As for New Covenant, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Kenston Forest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Banner Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Banner Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,240 points over their last 17 contests. As for New Covenant, they will be playing at home against Virginia Episcopal School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Covenant is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.5 points per game this season.
