Baseball Recap: Lapel Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Lapel came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Kokomo Wildkats with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lapel got a massive performance out of Keagen Bill, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Bill is becoming a predictor of the Bulldogs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Griffen Stow, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lapel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lapel's record now sits at 11-7. As for Kokomo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Lapel will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kokomo: the pair will be back at it again later today.
