Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only College Prep walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Urban Blues with a sharp 8-2 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Shreyas Clifford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Clifford was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Tilden Rees and John Fa did most of the damage at the plate: Rees went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Fa went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Rees has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Liev Melamed, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Urban, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8.
College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Urban, they will head out on the road to face off against Pacific Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
