Basketball Recap: Burroughs Has No Trouble Against Temescal Canyon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Roosevelt, Burroughs was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Temescal Canyon Titans with a sharp 61-41 victory. The Burros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Jhavmine Ave was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Kayla Davenport was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Temescal Canyon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sarai Kamweru, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards, and Ahmani Browder, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten boards, and nine assists. That was a full 41.5% of Temescal Canyon's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Burroughs now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Temescal Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
