Grace Christian extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 10-3 in the process. They came out on top against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 back in March.

Victoria Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Olivia Hochevar and Adison Gardner did most of the damage at the plate: Hochevar went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Gardner got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Gardner has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Aubrey Gunter also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Grace Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly four runs.
On American Leadership Academy-Johnston's side, Amelia Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, American Leadership Academy-Johnston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Cooke, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Looking ahead, Grace Christian will take on Wayne Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will square off against Ravenscroft at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.08 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
