After a string of 11 wins, Lee County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 8-4 to the Wayne County Yellow Jackets. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Lee County got a good showing from Landon Price, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Price has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Durrah Butler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Wayne County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee County will take on Colquitt County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne County, they will square off against Warner Robins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Demons at the right time seeing as the Demons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
