The Norristown Eagles lost against the Spring-Ford Rams back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Norristown was outmatched by Spring-Ford on the road and fell 68-18. While losing is never fun, Norristown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Spring-Ford is ranked 29th).
Anna Azzara was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five steals for Spring-Ford. Azzara is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Aaliyah Solliday was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Norristown dropped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.6 points per game. As for Spring-Ford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Norristown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spring-Ford, they will play host again and welcome Phoenixville, where tip off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Spring-Ford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
