It was a good run, but the Vaughn White Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 63-40 defeat at the hands of Northridge Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Vaughn has suffered since December 28, 2023.
Vaughn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mariah Eulloqui, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Cervantes, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Vaughn's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Northridge Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Vaughn's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sherman Oaks CES at 3:30 p.m. on January 22nd. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Neriah Adjei and Cervantes. As for Northridge Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Fulton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Fulton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
