The Capistrano Valley Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Dana Hills Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. Capistrano Valley is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Capistrano Valley suffered their biggest defeat since November 13, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against El Toro, falling 60-14. Capistrano Valley has not had much luck with El Toro recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Dana Hills put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 59-30 victory over Mission Viejo on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Dana Hills has posted against Mission Viejo since January 25, 2018.
Dana Hills can attribute much of their success to Brooklyn Akason, who scored 15 points along with three steals, and Kayla Rice, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Akason hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Bellon, who scored six points along with two blocks.
Capistrano Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Dana Hills, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
Capistrano Valley was taken down by Dana Hills 58-12 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Capistrano Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
