The Jamestown Muskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 55-38 to Mercer. While losing is never fun, Jamestown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while the Mustangs are ranked 313th).
Jamestown's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alayna Cadman, who scored 19 points, and Ivy Riley who scored 12 points. That was a full 50% of Jamestown's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Jamestown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Mercer, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Jamestown will be playing at home against the at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy Catholic is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. Mercer is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th.
