Softball Recap: St. Edmond Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

After only one run in their last match, St. Edmond made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mason City on Saturday. The Gaels blew past the Mohawks 18-3. Considering the Gaels have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Edmond has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Mason City, they dropped their record down to 6-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Edmond will challenge Algona at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Gaels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mason City, they will head out on the road to square off against Waterloo East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
