The Gridley Bulldogs won against the Orland Trojans last Friday with 58 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Gridley walked away with a 58-51 win over the Trojans. The win was nothing new for Gridley as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Brook Marr, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Gridley's points. Another player making a difference was Aubree Weber, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Orland still got an impressive performance from Emily Karle, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Karle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dioselin Nunez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Orland were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Gridley's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Orland, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-15.
Gridley will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orland, they will be playing at home against the Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Las Plumas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
