The Clarke Central Gladiators will challenge the Jackson County Panthers at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Clarke Central is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
On Friday, Clarke Central didn't have quite enough to beat Apalachee and fell 3-2.

Diego Martinez-Gamero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
At the plate, Clarke Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casper Emory, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson County). They never let Alcovy get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.
Jack Teague looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jackson County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jackson County got a massive performance out of Bryce Garrison, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Colin Price, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
Jackson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Clarke Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Jackson County, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Clarke Central beat Jackson County 9-6 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Clarke Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jackson County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
