Oakdale has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Sierra Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Oakdale suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 64-19 defeat at the hands of Kimball. Oakdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Meanwhile, Sierra was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 40-35 to East Union. While losing is never fun, Sierra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while East Union is ranked 129th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mya Everett, who scored 12 points along with three blocks. Another player making a difference was Abigail Chapman, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Oakdale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Sierra, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
Oakdale strolled past Sierra in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 42-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakdale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
