After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Torrey Pines, Central was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Southwest EC Eagles 67-15. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season.
Central was led to victory by Victoria Zamora and Maryanne Barrett. Zamora posted 19 points and three steals, while Barrett had nine points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Central is 8-4 when Barrett posts five or more steals, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Thomas, who put up nine points along with five boards and three steals.
With the victory, Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7. As for Southwest EC, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
