On Friday, Sonora earned a 37-24 win over Downey. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sonora.
Adeline Hanson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. The game was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Faught, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Sonora has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Downey, they bumped their record down to 2-10-1 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora and East Union will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. East Union is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games. As for Downey, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. Central Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
