Richmond is 0-4 against San Rafael since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Richmond Oilers will look to defend their home court against the San Rafael Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Richmond has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season. They breezed by Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at home to the tune of 80-3. With that win, Richmond brought their scoring average up to 53.3 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fatima Granados, who scored 24 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Granados has scored at least 25% of Richmond's points. Another player making a difference was Sandra Sanchez, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, San Rafael escaped with a win on Saturday against Redwood Christian by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The victory was just what San Rafael needed coming off of a 67-31 defeat in their prior match.
Richmond has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for San Rafael, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Richmond was taken down by San Rafael 66-20 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can Richmond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
