If the Fowler Redcats were feeling good off their 60-30 takedown of the Mt. Whitney Pioneers on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fowler took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Golden West.
Danae Banuelos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Golden West, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Banuelos has scored at least 25% of Golden West's points. Tie Morgan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Fowler has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Golden West, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Fowler will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Firebaugh on January 4, 2024. Firebaugh will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Golden West will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
