Baseball Recap: Nordhoff Wins Going Away Against Malibu

Nordhoff barely beat Malibu the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Nordhoff was the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over Malibu on Friday. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Weston Haley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andres Perez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Jaxson Middough was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.

Nordhoff has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Malibu is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nordhoff will challenge rival Santa Paula at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Malibu is set to face off against their familiar foe Hueneme at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
