After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pace Academy, Creekside was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Forest Park Panthers with a sharp 19-2 win. Considering the Seminoles have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rhianna Weaver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Creekside got a massive performance out of Mya Anderson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Ivorie Conner, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
Creekside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest Park only posted an OBP of .333.
Creekside's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Forest Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside will host Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest Park, they will welcome Mundy's Mill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
