This season hasn't been kind to the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 41-11 loss at the hands of High Tech NC. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter in their matchups with High Tech NC: they've now lost five in a row.
High Tech NC's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Analia Barraza, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. The match was Barraza's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Chula Vista Learning Community Charter bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.7 points per game. As for High Tech NC, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coastal Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, High Tech NC and Foothills Christian will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Foothills Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
