The Borrego Springs Rams suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 35-15 defeat at the hands of West Shores. Borrego Springs found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 26 to 4 on offense.
Despite the loss, Borrego Springs saw an underclassman step up: Michelle Llamas scored six points.
It was another big night for Anastacia Garth, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds for West Shores. Garth hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joana Cabrera, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Borrego Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for West Shores, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borrego Springs the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Calexico Mission at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Calexico Mission comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for West Shores, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Pasqual Academy at 4:00 p.m. San Pasqual Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
