Northwestern took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairview on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwestern in their matchups with Fairview: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Northwestern saw an underclassman step up: Makayla Presser-Palmer dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Presser-Palmer scored a full 48.1% of Northwestern's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brooke Miller was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Northwestern will head out on the road to face off against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairview will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cathedral Prep at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st.
