Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Heritage's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Heritage rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Gilmer Bobcats 8-2. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Bailee Hollis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Heritage got a massive performance out of Brylee Pritchett, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most triples Pritchett has posted since back in September of 2024. Landry White was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilmer only managed six.

Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Gilmer, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-16.

As of now, neither Heritage nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
