The Syracuse Rockets typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Arlington Eagles proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 52-42. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but Arlington was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arlington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Britt Nielsen, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Nielsen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Emerson Timm was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Syracuse, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Arlington will take on Louisville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Louisville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Tuesday. Syracuse will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Douglas County West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Douglas County West is ranked 120th, while Syracuse is ranked 99th).
