The Troy Warriors suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Sunny Hills by a score of 43-40. Troy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sunny Hills apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Troy still got an impressive performance from Kaylene Vivo, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Keilani Trujillo was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunny Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Do, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Erin Choi, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Troy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11. As for Sunny Hills, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fullerton at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Fullerton is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Sunny Hills, they will head out on the road to take on Sonora at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sonora is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
