Millville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millville will be strutting in after a victory while South Williamsport will be coming in after a loss.
On Saturday, Millville was able to grind out a solid win over Montgomery, taking the game 45-38.
It was another big night for Larissa Evans, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Millville's points. Abby Kakaley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, South Williamsport's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 41-32 to Northwest Area.
South Williamsport's defeat came about despite a quality game from Abby Akers, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
The win got Millville back to even at 7-7. As for South Williamsport, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Millville might still be hurting after the 48-23 loss they got from South Williamsport when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Millville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
