Wingate extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 6-2. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Gallup Bengals 14-12. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Gallup, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Gallup took the loss, they still got scores from Alex Gonzalez and Truitt Lewis.

Wingate has already played their next game, a 53-40 victory against Tohatchi on the 17th. As for Gallup, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crownpoint at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
