Brady Smigiel's Big Game Leads Newbury Park over Calabasas
Newbury Park picked up their seventh consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Brady Smigiel. Smigiel did his part (and then some), throwing for 263 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground for the 'W'. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Newbury Park pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Smigiel will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Westlake on Friday.

Rio Mesa picked up their third consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Isaiah Bautista. Bautista turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 49 yards and three touchdowns.
This season, Bautista has averaged 15.7 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 47.86 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 80.43 rushing yards.

Westlake was sadly handed a loss on Thursday, but Demanie Bell did his best to prevent it. Despite the defeat, Bell was still balling out as he rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Westlake is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7. Bell and Westlake are taking a road trip to take on Newbury Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Shane Rosenthal Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Newbury Park picked up their seventh consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Shane Rosenthal. Rosenthal was excellent, picking up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average receiving yardage north of 100 yards per game (105.4). His longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards.
