After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Elizabeth, Widefield was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. They blew past the Palisade Bulldogs 8-2. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Olivia McEwen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate, Widefield got a big performance out of  Taylor Hall, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Evelyn Ibarra, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Widefield  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in three consecutive  matchups.
Widefield has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record  this season. As for Palisade, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record  this season.
 Widefield has already played their next matchup,  a  12-9  loss against Frederick on the 24th. Palisade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
